Sam and Hristiyan run The Kitchen Room, an independent kitchen design and installation business in Boroughbridge. Following the opening of their showroom, they wanted a website that better represented the quality of their work and gave potential clients a clearer way to begin a conversation.
Their existing website had become restrictive. They needed more freedom to showcase completed kitchens, tell their story and develop the website as the business grew.
I created a new website with a premium, photography-led design and a more considered route from browsing to enquiry.
Understanding the brief
Sam’s brief was about more than improving the appearance of the website. She wanted visitors to experience the same sense of welcome and confidence they would feel in the showroom.
The design needed to be aspirational without losing the personal character of the business. Sam and Hristiyan work closely with their clients, and the website needed to explain that relationship as well as showcase their kitchens.
I used this as the starting point for the structure, bringing their story, approach and work into the main browsing experience.
Giving the photography more space
Kitchen photography was central to the project. Visitors needed to see the rooms as a whole, then appreciate the materials and smaller details that make each kitchen individual.
I built the design around large images, with spacious layouts and elegant typography supporting the photography. Full-width sections give the kitchens greater impact and help create the editorial feel Sam was looking for.
The written content sits alongside those images to explain the people and process behind the work. This gives visitors more to connect with as they explore.
Creating a clearer first step
Another important part of the project was helping visitors understand how to get started.
I brought the main invitation together under “Book a conversation”, with options for a short introductory call or a showroom visit. This gives potential clients a choice depending on how they would prefer to meet the team.
The website also explains what happens afterwards, from the home visit through to design and planning. Making those stages clearer helps visitors know what to expect before they enquire.
Making the website manageable
Sam also needed a practical way to keep the website active after launch.
I set up an editable Journal section so she can add, update and publish articles herself. This gives The Kitchen Room a place to share advice, project stories and updates as the business develops.
The completed website brings together their photography, personal story and enquiry options in a design that reflects the direction of the business. It gives Sam and Hristiyan more room to showcase their work and provides visitors with a clear invitation to take the next step.
