CONTENT STRATEGY & COPYWRITING

Content strategy and copywriting in Harrogate

You know your business inside out. Putting it into words that make sense to someone discovering it for the first time can be harder.

I help businesses decide what to say, where to say it and how to make it useful. From website copy to regular blog content, I write with your audience and your business in mind. I’m based in Harrogate and work with businesses in Knaresborough, across Yorkshire and further afield.

Give every piece of content a purpose

A service page should help someone understand what you offer and whether it suits them. A blog might answer a question they’re researching. A case study can show how you’ve approached a real project.

I’ll help you identify what’s missing, what needs improving and what deserves attention first. You don’t always need more content. Sometimes the most useful job is making the existing pages clearer.

What I can help with

Content planning

A focused plan based on your services, audience and priorities. We’ll look at the questions worth answering and the pages or articles best placed to answer them.

Website copy

Homepages, service pages and supporting content that explain your business in plain language. I’ll consider how visitors move through the site as well as what each page says.

Blogs and guides

Useful articles built around relevant topics, with enough detail to help the reader. Research and your own expertise give the content substance.

Case studies

I can turn project notes, customer feedback and the work itself into a clear account of the brief, approach and outcome. Any results need to be supported by the information you provide.

Editing existing copy

If you already have a draft, I can help sharpen the structure, remove repetition and bring the tone into line with the rest of your business.

It should still sound like you

I’ll ask how you speak to customers, what you want them to understand and which details matter. Existing materials can help, but a conversation often uncovers the explanations that make the copy feel right.

You’ll have the chance to review the draft and check the facts. I’ll make the wording clear without smoothing away the character of the business.

How we’ll work together

  1. 1. Understand the brief

We’ll agree the audience, purpose and scope. I’ll review the relevant pages and ask for the background information needed to write accurately.

  2. 2. Plan and draft

I’ll develop the structure and write the agreed content. For a wider content plan, we’ll decide which topics and pages come first.

  3. 3. Review and refine

You’ll check the draft for accuracy and tone. I’ll make the agreed revisions and prepare the copy for its intended use.

Questions about content and copywriting

Can you write about my industry?

I’ll review the subject and the level of detail needed before agreeing the work. Your input matters, particularly where the copy needs technical expertise or professional sign-off.

Do I need to provide a detailed brief?

No. A few notes and a conversation can be enough to begin. I’ll ask for the details needed and help shape a clear brief from there.

Do you write with SEO in mind?

Yes. Where search is relevant, I’ll consider the topic, search intent, headings and natural internal links. The copy still needs to read well and answer the reader’s questions.

Can you provide regular blog content?

Yes. We can agree topics, frequency and a review process around the time and expertise you have available.

LET’S GET THE WORDS RIGHT

What do you need to say?

A new website, a content plan or a page that never quite sounds right. Tell me what you’re working on and where you could use a hand.
